🦆 Bill Gates believes AI will empower education

BREAKING: Italy lifts ChatGPT ban?

Hey man,

The best duck in pop-culture history has to be Psyduck, change my mind.

Here’s the AI rundown for today:

  • Simulate anything you can think of with AI 💻️

  • Bill Gates shares his two cents of AI Education 🧠

  • Italy might lift their ChatGPT ban 🤖

  • Cleaning our oceans with AI 🌊

Cities? Forests? Beaches? Your Mum’s house? Simulate it all with AI 🖥️

With the power of Opus. 🤯

Watch the entire GIF unfold, the more text added, the more that appears.

ChatGPT 🤝 Midjourney 🤝 Sim City: It almost feels like a crossover event where text prompts meet asset generation in the most creative way possible.

Opus AI seems to do it all.

The tool aims to help in concept designs for movie-making, video game making or simulations of any type.

All with worded prompts. The more you write, the more you get.

The better you get at prompting the tool, the better your output. Just like any AI tool.

Pretty insane right? $50 to whoever creates the best pond metropolis with Opus AI hehe. 🦆 🏖️

Gates thinks AI will teach literacy within 18 months 🧑‍🏫

Bill Gates believes AI will teach kids how to read and write very efficiently.

“AI’s will get to that ability, to be as good a tutor as any human ever could.”

Bill Gates, @ ASU+GSV Summit

What does this mean, Quack? With recent AI bots such as ChatGPT and Google’s Bard performing highly on standardised test, then it shouldn’t take long to convert to teaching at a high level with AI. 🤖

In the past, computers have struggled to write at an authentic and creative level like humans can.

But this all changes with NLP models such as ChatGPT. ⚙️

This paves the path for more accessible private tutoring for students by using AI. 🧑‍🎓 😄

A long winding road ahead 🛣️ : It’s not that easy though, as AI models still require lots of training before they can teach at a proficient level. 18 months as quoted by Bill Gates is more than ample time. ⏳️

While free tools will be available, the tutoring AI models will likely come at a premium, but still less than traditional tutoring which is not accessible by all. 📝

Ciao, ChatGPT! It’s been a hot minute 🇮🇹

Italy could revert their ban on ChatGPT if privacy issues are fixed.

With the GDPD (Guarantor for the Protection of Personal Data), announcing last month that Italy would ban ChatGPT due to privacy concerns, they could be a silver lining.

Of the many concerns, the GDPD were concerned with ChatGPT exposing minors to inappropriate content through the chat service.

So, if OpenAI is able to enforce rules protecting minors by April 30th, ChatGPT will be reenabled.

This includes creating an age verification process blocking users under 13 and checking for parental consent of users aged between 13 and 18.

For other users, asking for explicit consent when requesting to use their data to train ChatGPT’s model will also be required.

Hopefully things go swimmingly 🦆 🏖️

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming

Dory and Nemo can live lavishly knowing AI is here to help keep the corals healthy. 🐟️ 🐠

t1, t2 and t3 each represent a different jellyfish, so tiny!

Roboticist’s from Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems have developed Jellyfish inspired AI robots that clean rubbish from the bottom of water sources. 🤖

They hope day one day, to clean rubbish from the bottom of the ocean. 🌊

Powered by AI to search for rubbish sources, the Jellyfish don’t make contact when trapping rubbish underneath their body to protect corals that may be near. 🪸

One fishes’ trash another fishes’ treasure 🐡 : Aside from collecting trash, the jellyfish can also harvest delicate items such as fish eggs

Be gone, plastic! 70% of marine litter is estimated to fall to the sea bed, 60% of which are plastics, removing such litter with these cute little jellyfish will have tremendous impact on the environment. 🫙
